My name is Dorothy Taare-Smith and I am the founder of Taonga Takiwatanga Charitable Trust here in Gisborne. The core function of Taonga Takiwatanga Charitable Trust is to provide marae based wananga or professional development for those needing to acquire knowledge about autism spectrum from Maori world view.
Our trust partnered with Josh and Bjorn from Lightshift Pictures in February 2022 who were contracted to shoot a series of promotional and ‘whanau voice’ videos.
The nature of the work we do with whanau can be very sensitive. I would like to commend Josh and Bjorn for supporting our whanau with utmost respect and care during the video shoots. Whanau shared their most intimate experiences with Josh and Bjorn about raising a child with autism. The professionalism Josh and Bjorn showed to our whanau mush be acknowledged. They demonstrated a high level of empathy and kindness through the entire process. Our videos were completed and delivered on time. We were very happy with the end results, as were the whanau who were involved.

Te Aroha Kanarahi Trust is proud tobe a supporter of this young company, who evolved out of our Project Hoake Kaupapa, developing small businesses in the Tairawhiti. They are also part of the Generite Kaupapa, a network of hundreds of small businesses that have been assisted by the Ministry of Development with start up funding. Josh & Bjorn have steadily built their business through word-of-mouth, and reinvested in themselves to continually critique, review and develop their services. We have had the pleasure of working with Josh and Björn over the last few months with our charitable trusts promotional video.They have been awesome to work with for all aspects including the lead up, communication, filming, postproduction and their understanding of us as a Maori organisation.

In November 2021, Tokomaru Bay United Sports Club (TBUSC) engaged with Lightshift Productions to film the Te
Hokowhitu A Tu kapa haka performance while livestreaming other Te Hokowhitu A Tu member from throug out Aotearoa to perform with the live kapa roopu. The event being run was the TBUSC Vax to the Max event where TBUSC had
activities for whanau available while encouraging whanau whanui to receive a Covid-19 vaccination at the event.
The livestream enabled 15 other members of Te Hokowhitu a Tu to perform with the live roopu and a promotional video of the day was achieved thanks to the talents and expertise of Lightshift Productions. Due to the high quality of the final product TBUSC also engaged with Lightshift Productions to film a promotional video to assist the TBUSC with future funding applications. The promotional video highlights the goals and aspirations to upgrade and add to facilities within Tokomaru Bay that are aimed at growing inclusiveness and confidence of Rangatahi.
